Ruth is native to New York and is a NY based actor.

She spent her University years in Texas and earned a BA in Music from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She moved back to NYC to further her studies in music (specifically Jazz) and acting and attended AMDA and the William Esper Studio. She also studied at The Singer’s Forum and under such Jazz Greats as Tierney Sutton, Roseanna Vitro and Ann Hampton Callaway. She won an Emmy for her work on the Commercial Campaign – NY1 Latinos. Her Off-Broadway credits include: “Rancho Viejo” (Playwrights Horizons) making the NYC Critics Choice List, “Pre-existing Conditions” (NY Corkscrew Festival), “Let’s Get Ready Together” (The Tank), “Rosa de Dos Aromas” (Teatro LATEA), “Into the Glades” a spoof on James Lapine’s “Into the Woods” (TADA Theatre - NYC Fringe Festival) and “Etta Jenks” with Vincent Pastore and Maureen Van Zandt. Her TV credits include: The Blacklist, Jessica Jones, “Black and White Comedy Special” (A&E), The Hunt (CNN Docudrama), Famous Murders, Monsters Inside Me and NBC/Telemundo Spectacular (2018). Her Movie Credits include: “English Vinglish” (Best Foreign Film at Toronto Film Festival), “Divorce Texas Style” co-starring with Daniel Baldwin.
